What is Adenomyosis?

Adenomyosis is a common condition affecting the women in their late reproductive years
It is usually defined as thickening of the uterine wall which occurs due to presence of endometrial like tiisue in the myometrium (uterine wall), therefore during each menstrual cycle this tissue swells up leading to heavy painful periods accompanied with passage of blood clots 

 

Symptoms

 Adenomyosis may or may not be symptomatic. Common symptoms include

• Excessive or Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding
• Dysmenorrhea : Severe Cramping or Sharp Stabbing Palvic Pain During Menstruation 
• Chronic Pelvic Pain, Dull Aching Persistent
• Heaviness in Lower Abdomen 

Complications 

• Chronic Fatigue
• Anaemia
• Irritability, Depression 
• Infertility
